Chief Fabrication is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to join the Chief team. This position builds and repairs jigs, cutting tools, gauges, or metal dies used in shaping, assembly and forming metal products

Job Responsibilities:

• Plans and lays out work according to drawings, blueprints, or other written or oral specifications.
• Understanding the working properties of common metals and alloys; selects appropriate tools, materials, and processes to complete task within close tolerances.
• Makes necessary shop computations; sets up and operates conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, grinders, manual and CNC mills used to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Develops and/or modifies programming for CNC equipment.
• Complete necessary records and reports on machining activity, work completed and time worked.
• Uses crane, forklift, or other appropriate material handling methods to move parts and position stock in machine.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Requires knowledge of machining and tooling room practices generally gained in an Associates level degree or a certificated apprenticeship program and 3-5 years or the equivalent.

Shift:

• 1st Shift – 7:00am – 3:30pm
