Network Administrator
Description
Chief Industries’ Corporate Office is seeking a Network Administrator to join the Chief team. This position ensures the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and developing LANs and WANs, as well as installing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. The role also involves analyzing and resolving network issues and providing end-user training as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
- Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Participate in managing all network security solutions.
- Perform network security audits
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Education:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s degree, required.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Four or more years of experience in areas such as network support, switching/routing technologies, firewall/network security configuration, internet protocols like TCP/IP, and physical server and network infrastructure
- A professional certification, such as the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is highly desirable.
