Internal Chartis Business Systems Workday Manager
In this strategic role, the Workday Manager serves as a liaison between cross-functional finance, HR and technical areas. will oversee and coordinate the planning, execution, and governance of Workday updates and releases. This role will partner with IT, HR, Finance, Payroll, and other stakeholders to ensure that all Workday releases and changes are effectively implemented with minimal disruption to business operations
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional finance and HR teams including “Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Talent & Performance, HCM Core, Learning” and the business to understand our business strategy, processes, services, and roadmap to maximize Workday system and drive success.
- Manage the end-to-end Workday release cycle, including bi-annual updates, patches, and enhancements.
- Serve as a key collaborator between internal departments and functional teams and the outsourced vendor on the implementation of Workday system changes to ensure successful implementation.
- Understand, communicate and plan for Workday cross-functional system touchpoints and impacts around configuration, business processes, reporting and integrations.
- Work in partnership with functional HR and technical team members through collaboration sessions to understand the current process, requirements and the desired outcome ensure successful translation of business needs into technical system requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Provide support to teams by writing comprehensive business requirements.
- Perform testing and validation of deliverables prior to functional team user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met.
- Assist in coaching and supporting functional teams with UAT and end-to-end testing considering downstream impacts, tracking testing progress, pass/fail and feedback; ensure appropriate data sets are available for functional teams.
- Solid understanding of Workday Configurable Security
- Provide hands on input to help functional department leads prioritize system enhancement requests on the roadmap.
- Work with functional HR and technical teams to educate, prepare and test for upcoming Workday releases.
- Serve as the liaison with the training department to educate users on how to navigate and use the system.
- Create documentation and materials to support user adoption.
- Continually build awareness and knowledge of Workday system and new functionality
- Understand and promote data governance and ensure attention to data quality.
- Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards.
- Provide support to other projects and duties as assigned
- Collaborate and support integrations with internal and third-party systems.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor ’s degree in Business, Information systems or Computer Science HR and Finance experience plus 3+ years of experience and knowledge of Workday (across multiple products) and knowledge of finance, HR business processes and functions
- Demonstrated experience implementing Workday solutions.
- Workday implementation experience required. Certifications preferred
- Knowledge of IIBA /PMI – Business Analysis Standards and/or equivalent certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability and experience writing and executive test strategies and plans.
- Demonstrated ability and experience translating business needs into written business requirements.
- Experience working with outsourced vendors a plus.
- Exceptional analytical ability, strong technical, problem solving and business intelligence skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating a full understanding of the needs of the customer and ability to develop strong relationships across functional and technology teams.
- Effective presentation skills to communicate complex information clearly.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where planning, organization, time management and prioritizing is necessary.
