The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our team as the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) for CFI. This position requires a proactive, strategic, entrepreneurial, and tactical leader who can operate lean and leverage areas of exponential growth.  The CFO will direct and oversee the financial activities of CFI while providing support to its subsidiaries, direct the preparation of consolidated financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth across the portfolio. This position is located in the United States Virgin Islands. US candidates seeking opportunities as a full-time employee will be asked to relocate. We will consider 1099 consulting engagements for US-based candidates only. 


What You’ll Contribute:

  • Create and promote financial and business strategies to streamline operations and ensure efficiency, strengthening internal controls to drive profitability and mitigate risk
  • Ensure that strategic planning and forecasting are key competencies in the organization, develop forward-looking predictive financial analyses to ensure that the company can correctly access information and reforecast implications quickly and thoughtfully
  • Ensure that all levels across all companies are provided with accurate, timely, and relevant financial information which is meaningful to the business and ensure the integrity and compliance of financial and regulatory reporting, controls, processes, and systems
  • Develop strong financial systems and oversee implementation of those processes
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses and make any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Review planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
  • Stay abreast of long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Partner with senior leaders to push the boundaries of current and future departmental goals and strategies and clearly articulate the key drivers of the business.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking while driving the process(es) to refine the strategy and execution plans, as well as how to measure success and report progress. 
  • Bring creativity and passion to the organization and identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
  • Participate in due diligence, negotiations, and integration of potential acquisition targets, with a value creation mindset
  • Develop long-term, trusted relationships, and credibility with key external business partners including external auditors, bankers, and others

What You’ll Need:
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus
  • 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with excellent financial management expertise within financial services in the CFO role
  • Adaptive leadership to successfully manage through ambiguity and rapid changes 
  • Strategic and Innovative approaches to business planning and management and sound understanding of best business practices
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting.
  • Effective prioritization, clear accountability, and the ability to make decisions within tight timeframes across multiple high priority projects
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
  • Possess a broad institutional perspective while embracing change and innovation
  • Strong process orientation (can manage large scale projects)
  • Ability to create and produce strong BI and analytics to assist business leaders with decisions. 
  • Ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors
  • Executive presence and can lead thru influence and expertise 
  • 10 + years of M&A experience (due diligence, reverse due diligence, pre and post-integration work) 
  • Strong proforma and modeling skills 
  • 10 + years of public company experience 
  • Strong investor relations experience.
  • Ability to be a senior-level thought partner to the CEO and work effectively with the other C- suite executives.
