Job Status: Part-time, Onsite
Location: 500 - 5021 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC VH5 4A5
Salary: $40/hr
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Data Analytics Instructor will be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging lectures and workshops to students enrolled in our Data Analytics program.
- Prepare and execute comprehensive lesson plans and exercises that align with program objectives.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and projects to foster growth and improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of our project-based educational model.
- Collaborate with colleagues to adapt and refine existing curriculum materials, ensuring the delivery of high-quality instruction.
- Support the employability, academic achievement, and overall well-being of a diverse student population throughout the program.

Education and Experience
- Degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Operational Research, Management Science, or Computer Science, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in data analytics or related fields.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the college level, preferably in data analytics or a related discipline.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to guide students through real-world big data analytics projects, demonstrating practical application of theoretical concepts.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for identifying areas of curriculum improvement.
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of effectively conveying complex subject matter to diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset, fostering a cooperative learning environment among students and faculty.
- Willingness and adaptability to embrace evolving technologies and educational practices.
- Ability to assess and address individual student needs, providing personalized support as required.
- Familiarity with Learning Management System platforms.
Data Analytics Knowledge:
- Proficiency in big data tools and technology solutions.
- Solid understanding of big data fundamentals and principles.
- Competence in Python programming and relevant data analysis libraries.
- Basic knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Tableau, R, MapReduce, Python, JavaScript, Java, HBASE, HIVE, and NoSQL.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six-Sigma, Lean, Agile, TDQM, Demming, and Kanban.
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence concepts.
- Understanding of data encoding principles and methods.
