The Graphic Designer supports the University’s creative initiatives by executing high-quality visual materials across primarily print platforms, with limited supporting digital assets as directed. This role works under the guidance of senior creative leadership and assists in producing brand-aligned materials that advance institutional priorities. The position requires strong attention to detail, production accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred; equivalent portfolio-based experience considered.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) on a Mac-based system.
- Knowledge AI tools (e.g. Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Topaz) that enhance efficiency, ideation, and production accuracy in the design process. Understanding of these emerging technologies to assist with concept exploration, image creation/refinement, layout variations, and production tasks under senior art direction.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for layout support and file preparation.
- Foundational understanding of typography, layout systems, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of print production processes and file setup.
- Awareness of current design trends and evolving visual standards.
- Strong attention to detail and proofing accuracy.
- Ability to receive direction and constructive feedback and implement revisions efficiently.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and courteous demeanor with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.
- A visual portfolio demonstrating layout competency, brand consistency, and technical execution is required.
Key Job Duties
- Execute quality design work for University offices and departments under the direction of senior creative leadership.
- Design brochures, flyers, postcards, posters, event collateral, signage, and other print materials in alignment with University brand standards.
- Support creation of supporting digital assets (social graphics, simple display graphics, presentation layouts) as assigned.
- Maintain strict adherence to institutional brand guidelines, typography standards, color systems, and visual identity frameworks.
- Prepare production-ready files for print, ensuring accuracy in layout, typography, bleeds, color profiles, and file specifications.
- Assist in the full print production process including vendor communication, file packaging, proof review, and quality assurance.
- Obtain and compare print bids as directed; communicate findings clearly to project managers and leadership.
- Review color proofs and final files for design and text accuracy prior to release.
- Maintain organized file structures and proper archiving of completed projects.
- Work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards and strong internal customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.

Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process. The pay range for this job is: $21.63-$24.04 per hour, and is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate’s qualifications/experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage and CCU reserves the right to make pay decisions based on economic and equity considerations. CCU does not determine pay based on sex or any other protected status.

Spiritual Requirements
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
- Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
- Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
- Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
