UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Digital Marketing Strategy to lead the firm’s digital growth strategy across channels, platforms, and audiences. This role is responsible for developing data-driven, multi-channel digital marketing strategies that increase visibility, engagement, and conversion across the firm’s website, email, paid media, and organic channels.
 
The AVP, Digital Marketing Strategy will serve as the senior strategic owner of digital marketing, translating performance data into actionable insights and recommendations that inform marketing priorities, campaign planning, and ongoing optimization. This role will oversee and partner closely with the Digital Marketing Channel Manager, providing strategic direction, prioritization, and mentorship, while occasionally supporting tactical execution as needed.
 
This position is ideal for a strategic digital marketer who thrives at the intersection of analytics, marketing automation, optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Strategy & Channel Leadership
  • Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel digital marketing strategies – integrating business and marketing objectives - across email, paid search, paid social, SEO, and website optimization.
  • Oversee digital channel planning and prioritization to ensure alignment with firm-wide marketing goals.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Digital Marketing Channel Manager, ensuring strong execution, continuous improvement, and skill development.
  • Serve as a trusted digital advisor to internal stakeholders, providing best practices, insights, and recommendations to inform marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate complex data and digital concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Marketing Automation & HubSpot Strategy
  • Serve as the primary strategist for the marketing HubSpot instance, including leading automation, email marketing, and campaign management.
  • Design and optimize segmented email workflows, nurture campaigns, and automation sequences to support lead generation, engagement, and conversion.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Sales teams to ensure effective lead routing, scoring, attribution, and lifecycle stage optimization.
  • Establish best practices for email performance, deliverability, personalization, and compliance.
SEO, Content & Organic Growth
  • Collaborate with SEO consultants and the Content team to guide keyword research, on-page SEO strategy, meta optimization, and content recommendations.
  • Ensure digital content aligns with SEO best practices and supports long-term organic growth.
  • Monitor search performance trends and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
Website Optimization & Conversion Strategy
  • Lead website optimization efforts focused on improving user experience, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Leverage A/B testing, heatmaps, and analytics tools to identify opportunities for improvement and inform testing strategies.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
  • Analyze and interpret digital performance dashboards across traffic, engagement, conversions, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Monitor and evaluate KPIs across all digital channels.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reports with clear insights, trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Use data to proactively identify opportunities, risks, and areas for optimization.
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, marketing strategy, or growth marketing roles.
  • Deep expertise across email marketing, marketing automation, paid media, SEO, website optimization, and analytics.
  • Proven success developing and implementing multichannel digital strategies (including content, SEO/SEM, paid, organic, CRM, and platform experiences)
  • Advanced experience with HubSpot, including workflows, automation, segmentation, reporting, and campaign management.
  • Experience with CMS (WordPress preferred) and analytics tools, HTML/CSS, PowerBI, and GA4
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategy.
  • Experience partnering with Business Intelligence, Sales, Content, and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, coach execution-focused team members, and elevate digital maturity.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience in B2B, professional services, or nonprofit sectors preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $120,000
The exact salary varies within range based on years of relevant experience and education.
