The Lumistella Company is looking for an experienced Sr. Manager, Employee Experience to join the People Operations team! This position will report to the VP, People Operations and is responsible for owning the full employee life cycle. They will ensure that at the onset the position we recruit for is fully vetted, choosing the right candidate that fits the culture and needs of the business. They will then work with the manager to ensure the employee is engaged and empowered all the way from onboarding through to the employee’s last day with the company. This strategic role will be hands on to execute our overall people agenda with a keen focus on Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement and Retention, and Talent Development.
The Sr. Manager, Employee Experience will benchmark best in class People Operations services and provide the Company with calculated guidance to ensure we have fully productive employees, achieving company aligned results. This role will execute programs in support of a growth culture that reinforces connectivity and proficiency. Key areas of ownership include Talent Acquisition, New Hire Orientation, Performance Management, Reward and Recognition, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Policy Management, and Compliance.
Ultimately, the Sr. Manager, Employee Experience will champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture that creates a workspace where all employees feel valued, empowered, and inspired to achieve their full potential. This role plays a critical role in shaping and driving the employee experience strategy while upholding and role modeling the company’s values. This position will provide a high degree of operational excellence in everything that they do to develop and implement strategies to enhance each stage of the employee life cycle.
The Sr. Manager, Employee Experience must possess and utilize high levels of emotional intelligence, natural relationship-building skills, strategic thinking abilities, and high levels of discernment. This role requires someone that has a growth mindset that thrives on driving operational improvements.
The Sr. Manager, Employee Experience will be lead and maintain the following areas:
Employee Life Cycle Management
- Oversees and executes the end-to-end employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent development, and offboarding.
- Develops and implements strategies to enhance each stage of the employee life cycle, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and objectives.
- Continuously assesses and refines processes to streamline operations and improve the overall employee experience.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
- Works with the recruiter and hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and attract top talent.
- Participates in recruiting and hiring decision making for all positions.
- Ensures job candidates are a cultural fit and serves as the gatekeeper for the organization in regards to protecting the culture.
- Drives a best-in-class orientation and onboarding process for all new hires, ensuring new hires feel welcomed, informed, and equipped for success from day one.
- Reviews, develops, and evolves new hire orientation materials and processes, while identifying and driving on opportunities to create improvement and efficiencies.
Performance Management
- Drives performance management initiatives, including goal setting, feedback processes, and performance evaluations.
- Provides guidance and support to managers and employees on performance-related matters, fostering a culture of continuous feedback and development.
- Consults with Managers on performance improvement plans, coaching, and employee discipline.
- Coaches managers on the process to document personnel issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensures adherence to the employee termination process which includes all pre-exit procedures and processing requirements.
- Works with team and Managers to develop communication and coverage plans to ensure business continuity when an employee departs.
Talent Development
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to design and implement career development programs, training initiatives, and learning opportunities.
- Supports employees in identifying career paths and growth opportunities within the organization.
- Evaluates and drives talent development program improvements to ensure the company is able to retain and grow talent.
Employee Engagement and Retention
- Develops and executes strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Conducts regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement.
Policy Management and Compliance
- Ensures review, maintenance, and update of existing policies and the Employee Handbook on an ongoing basis and ensures timely and compliant roll-out of new or revised policies.
- Ensures organization’s compliance and maintains thorough knowledge in such areas as EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, ADA, healthcare reform, ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
- Develops, interprets, advises, and implements policies and procedures according to current federal and state laws and regulations and changes, as well as best practices.
- Conducts and implements People Operations audit related procedures and processes and compiles HR related data as needed for internal and external reporting.
- Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
- Implements a comprehensive DEI strategy aligned with the company's values, goals, and business objectives.
- Integrates DEI principles into all aspects of talent acquisition, retention, and development processes.
- Delivers training programs to increase awareness and sensitivity among employees and managers.

The ideal Sr. Manager, Employee Experience will bring:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience with exposure to all areas of Human Resources in a professional office or professional services environment; Experience working in a small to mid-size organization required; Experience working for a privately held, family-owned business preferred; Minimum of two (2) years managing direct reports required.
- Deep experience driving performance management, talent development and employee engagement initiatives as part of a Human Resources team.
- Demonstrated expertise in a variety of Human Resources and administrative concepts, practices and procedures; working knowledge of and experience managing employee relations, legal and regulatory compliance, employment law, and talent management functions including recruiting, talent development, succession planning and performance management programs and objectives.
- Proactive leader who is influential and inspiring at all levels with the ability to manage, coach and develop a diverse team.
- Strong risk management orientation – ability to ensure HR processes and procedures are not only compliant but designed to mitigate risk and exposure to the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact well throughout the organization and within the People Operations team; Highly poised and professional in all interactions, presentation and delivery; A tactful and engaging communicator who understands the importance of relationships and productive communication.

- Strong understanding of employment law; Working knowledge of and ability to interpret compliance related laws and regulations; Research and growth-oriented mindset.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills; Capable of effective planning and priority setting; Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional (above-average) attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent writing skills including effective comprehension and communication.

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio preferred; Experience working in an HRIS system; Experience working in ADP Workforce Now preferred; Technically savvy and able to learn new software systems quickly.
- Ability to prepare and present professional and comprehensive presentations to individuals at all levels of the organization.
