The Lumistella Company is seeking a Seasonal Brand Protection Specialist to join our team!   The Seasonal Brand Protection Specialist assists the Brand Protection team in monitoring and acting against online infringement. Assigned to a specific territory (North America, UK & Europe, or APAC), they review infringement cases on e-commerce and third-party websites, recommend takedown actions, and create Notices of Claimed Infringement (NOCI) using our internal processes. The Brand Protection Specialist compiles weekly reports on infringement takedowns and trends in their territory for the Brand Protection team's review. Their focus is on monitoring infringement across various online platforms, including e-commerce, social media, and independent websites.

The ideal Seasonal Brand Protection Specialist will bring:

  • One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in a professional setting with research-related tasks/data collection/analysis or an internship/work in a legal office or department preferred.
  • Paralegal/criminal justice experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential to interact with team members and managers efficiently and confidently. The success of our process relies on the seamless exchange of relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Adept at conducting in-depth research and summarizing findings. 
  • Expertise in effectively presenting research findings into a cohesive and comprehensive report. 
  • Using software that provides multiple points of information.
  • We need someone who can compile and curate weekly reports for our team.
  • The level we are looking for is someone who has exported data into an Excel chart, written summaries that explain those charts, and provided insight.
  • Proficiency making charts in Excel, typing documents in Word, and creating presentations in PowerPoint, this person should possess strong skills in various Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint.
  • Demonstrates active listening skills and ability to follow directions (hear, process and understand); and
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; Able to communicate effectively on a global scale.

 

Essential Job Functions and Duties of the Seasonal Brand Protection Specialist: 

  • Fully documenting all instances of infringement in an organized and easily accessible manner as instructed.
  • Compiling weekly status reports on infringement matters.
  • Conducting research as needed on various subject matters pertinent to evolving IP law and IP case law.
  • Monitoring the IP Watch Services system and regularly reporting and documenting findings and status to supervisors.
  • Aiding with gathering information and items related to The Lumistella Company’s new and existing trademark and copyright registrations.
  • Assisting with various IP-related initiatives within the company as needed.
  • Perform manual searches to review online infringement and mark the correct course of action for take-downs on e-commerce platforms, social media platforms and third-party websites.
  • Compile territory reports reflecting key infringement trends, counterfeit issues, etc.
  • Assist in the collection of information necessary to pursue related legal action.
  • Conduct research on evolving IP law and IP case law both domestically and internationally.
  • Evaluate instances of infringement and escalate to supervisor as necessary.
  • Maintain well organized files for all research, reports and infringement matters.
  • Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy regarding information security and management.

 

 Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in relevant field of study (ex: research, paralegal, criminal justice certification) or equivalent experience.
  • Paralegal/Criminal Justice certification or background is preferred, not required.
  • Bi-lingual skills are preferred, but not required.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust or temperature changes.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, and manual dexterity for working with computer keyboards.
  • Position requires presence in the office consistent with the company’s Work from Home policy and whenever necessary to fulfill the functions of the role.
