Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan & Ulster, is looking for a full-time Prevention Aide in their Orange and Sullivan County Prevention program!
The hourly rate for this position is $22.75/hour. This position is full time and comes with benefits!
Summary:
The Prevention Aide provides independent, organized, and detail-oriented administrative support to the Director of Prevention Services. Responsibilities include office functions, reporting compliance, and assisting with the Orange County Tri-City Youth Coalitions. This role helps implement community events as needed, primarily in Orange and Sullivan Counties at the direction of the Director of Prevention Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and organize daily schedule for Director of Prevention.
2. Assist the Director with fiscal responsibilities, i.e. department program purchases, internal budget tracking and organization of spending across multiple funding lines etc.
3. Ensure compliance of internal reporting for department, i.e. monthly activity tracking.
4. Assist with coordinating community/agency trainings and maintenance of all training records/certifications for prevention department staff with HR.
5. Provide support to both county prevention departments at the direction and discretion of the Director:
a. Create/maintain a filing system and accurate list of books/pamphlets in Prevention library
b. Provide administrative support, i.e. copying, faxing, scanning, typing, etc.
c. Responsible for meeting minutes for the committees the Director of Prevention chairs
d. Responsible for inventory and maintaining office supplies for the Orange County department
e. Prepare and coordinate materials for meetings and special projects
6. Assist in the development of the educational and training provided to the community by the department with the Director of Prevention and NYS OASAS.
7. Assist Prevention department with planning and implementation of community events and trainings.
8. Create/maintain records of contacts in community with regular email communication for and with the Director of Prevention.
9. Assist in the development of the Tri-City Youth Coalition in Orange County which can include the creation of outreach materials such as flyers/forms, meeting attendance, and social media.
10. Maintain a calendar of outreach and community events.
11. Other duties and responsibilities by Director of Prevention.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Additional hours may be required to meet program deadlines.
Working conditions and physical demands required:
• Use of a computer at least 60% of the time.
• Operate computer, telephone, and other office productivity equipment, such as photocopier, scanner, laminator, shredder, and printer.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
• Sitting, standing, walking, talking, bending, lifting, and stooping are required.
• Climbing stairs.
• Enter and exit buildings to outdoors on a constant basis to gain entry to other buildings and to the public.
• Local travel and access to reliable transportation is required in Orange and Sullivan Counties.

Qualifications
Education and/or experience required:
Applicant must have:
• A minimum of two years’ office administration experience with MS Office expertise.
• GED/High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree in related field preferred.

• Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Ability to type minimum of 55 WPM
• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to work with a wide range of people, including youth, parents, community leaders, and faith-based organizations.
