Summary: This position will track and support one hundred high school graduates from the four highs schools we support through our Community Schools, In-School Youth, and Learning to Work programs. Direct support for these students would be intended to ensure the establishment of good habits and the connection to resources needed to succeed at the college level. Will work with all HS based programs directors to implement a best practice methods model across all Alianza Division programs. Will help develop a college entry and college access best practice model for the division. Will monitor the success of our interventions by following up with alumni, adjusting supports at the pre- and post-secondary level as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Represent program and agency at all major Coalitions, forums, Trainings and Citywide partnerships that address College and Work readiness opportunities for our programs and participants.
- Will work on creating a college readiness curriculum for the division.
- Conduct initial program and participant assessment to identify our need as a division to strengthen our College and Career Readiness goals.
- Provide workshops and training to Youth advocates about College and Career Readiness.
- Coordinate with all HS based Directors, College Tours, College Fairs, Career Expos and other opportunities that will benefit our HS participants.
- Create with HS based Directors to create an alumni committee that can come back to our sites to talk about their college and our work experience.
- Create partnerships with local banks and financial institutions to create financial literacy classes for our participants and their parents or guardians.
- Assist to maintain the monthly calendar of program activities and workshops available to participants.
- Attend inter-office meetings as well as outside agencies’ meetings as appropriate.
- Participate in staff meeting periodically at all HS based sites.
- Plan and use community resources that enrich the educational content of the program.
- Create a parent' s guardians advocacy team across all programs to speak to stakeholders and elected officials around College and Work readiness needs in our community.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement.

• When conducting home visits or field trips, individuals will use public transportation or traverse city streets, occasionally ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Remain in a stationary position while monitoring activities, providing instruction, or when at a workstation.
• Move for long periods, providing instruction.
• Use a computer at least 40% of the time.
• Ability and patience to work with young people, particularly in group settings.
Qualifications
Education and/or experience required:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience working with youth and working in an in-school setting.
Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate participants.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent network-building and outreach skills.
- Ability to effectively interact and work with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
- Must be organized and detail oriented and work effectively under pressure in both teams setting and individually.
- Excellent computer skills and experience (Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Must be fingerprinted and cleared by NYC DOE and complete a background check.
