PURPOSE:

This position supports overall global inventory management including forecasting, demand planning, data analysis, data integrity, and related process improvement. The SCA creates and maintains demand plans, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from historical data and statistical analysis, along with input from the Executive Team and appropriate business partners from the Commercial and Global Supply Teams. They then manage the output of that demand plan and related systems parameters in order to optimize the local/country/global inventory position over time, while providing excellent customer service.

Compensation: $65 - $75k + incentive eligible
Hours: 8am - 5pm
Must be able to work out of our Carol Stream office 3 days per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (performs other duties as assigned):

    • Enables achievement of overall business and supply chain goals via activities that create reliable demand plans, constantly improving forecast to achieve forecast accuracy goals.
    • Performs advanced data analysis and creates reporting as needed to support processes of the Demand Planning & Analytics team and Global Supply as a whole. Develops and maintains KPI dashboards, maintains global/local core status, etc.
    • Leads collaborative forecast and inventory planning meetings (S&OP) with business partners to generate consensus demand forecasts.
    • Proposes and maintains adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends. Tracks and measures the accuracy of those adjustments.
    • Optimizes inventory levels by calculating and maintaining planning parameters, making efficient sourcing decisions, and supporting accurate sourcing rules for mill-direct replenishment.
    • Supports creation and revision of internal material specifications, bills of material and routings.
    • Maintains a high level of data integrity utilizing DI inconsistency reports.
    • Leads/supports cross-functional projects related to continuous improvement of productivity, inventory turns, lead times, service levels, profitability, and/or revenue growth.
    • Supports effective execution of all related software and systems as appropriate. Recommends and implements enhancements to systems supporting forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management.
    • Provides input to the Supply Chain team in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Measures and manages the performance of those strategies.
    • Provides administrative support for supply chain activities, including maintaining records, coordinating information, preparing documentation, and supporting departmental initiatives as required.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
    • Three years of demand planning, inventory planning or related experience
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop and manage key reports utilizing Business Intelligence tools or similar
    • Ability to develop new ideas in order to improve inventory forecasting, planning and management solutions
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional environment
    • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
    • Demonstrated team or project leadership experience
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         Master’s Degree in Business (MBA), Supply Chain, or related field

    ·         ASCM Certification - CPIM or CSCP

    ·         Experience with statistical forecasting tools

    ·         Demonstrated proficiency using process Improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma

    ·         Experience with Business Intelligence / Data Visualization software.

    ·         Knowledge of metals and/or metal distribution industry a plus.
