The Regional Sales Manager / Business Development Manager represents and sells products within a sales territory. Manages existing accounts while identifying, developing and prospecting sales opportunities for existing or new customer profitable growth. Works across Castle functional teams in order to drive improvements in sales execution, service and customer satisfaction.

A.M. Castle & Co. is looking for a Regional Sales Manager / Business Development Manager located preferably in France (Montoir, Tarbes, etc.) or surrounding areas. The territory spans from Europe, Middle East, and Africa to grow our medical and industrial market. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a significant amount of travel and meetings with both a new and existing customer base.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Essential Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops business plants to meet or exceed sales and profitability foals
  • Identifies & develops sales with current and new strategic accounts within the allocated region
  • Leads, coaches, motivates, and trains the outside sales force to achieve individual and company sales objectives
  • Develops added value processing business to maximize profit potential with existing & new accounts
  • Identifies model inventories to meet customer demands, improve sales volume and increase market share ensuring a strategic and competitive supply of product consistent with financial objectives
  • Identifies opportunities disseminates information and develops implementation plans designed to secure new business in concert with appropriate sales personnel
  • Develops pricing strategy for specified customers' annual contract renewals
  • Builds relationships with key client contacts in order to foster long lasting business relationships and ensure continued high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Provides sales strategic direction together with the European Leadership Team
    • Works with sales, purchasing, supply chain, and pricing functions in order to increase the company's market share, while enhancing the company's image as a market leader
    • Supports and works proactively with all departments / functions of the European Branches to ensure the delivery of European KPI objectives 
    • Supports the Management team in the development of sales strategy to meet or exceed European revenue and EBITDA

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • General office environment, PC use
  • Travel, typically via automobile, to customers within territory

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Experience: Type, Skills, and Years:

  • Ten years of sales experience
  • Five years of Sales leadership experience and the proven ability to successfully coach and motivate sales team
  • Multi-lingual French & English
  • Knowledge of raw materials (i.e., ferrous and non-ferrous material) and some exposure to the metals industry
  • Experience with medical, aerospace, and industrial markets
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Advanced business / financial acumen and knowledge of sales techniques and marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated sales skills with strong achievement orientation and negotiation skills to close business deals 
  • Strong customer service orientation with ability to initiate and sustain productive business relationships with customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with all levels in an organization and to make effective presentations to clients
  • Good problem-solving skills with ability to develop solutions to customer problems
  • Good organizational skills
  • PC literacy, proficiency in MS Office suite

 

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in metals, manufacturing, distribution
  • Knowledge of Oracle or similar sales software
  • Exposure to Sandler sales training programs
  • Bachelor’s – Degree Program:  Business, Marketing, or related field
