Are you a programming professional seeking your next opportunity in drafting? Castle Metals is seeking a CAD Programmer for its Cleveland, Ohio, location. This individual is responsible for producing machine codes, through computerized drafting, to efficiently process customer orders.

This is a 1st shift job opportunity. The hours are M-F, 8:00a - 5:00p. Castle Metals provides great benefits and a safety conscious work environment. Hourly compensation for this role will range between $20.00/hr - $26.00/hr depending on the experience level of the candidate. Castle is willing to train candidates with entry level / minimal exposure to CAD / CAM practices.

This position will play a critical role by producing machine codes through computerized drafting, to efficiently process customer orders.


Essential Primary Responsibilities:
• Programs and operates computer drafting system, SigmaNest
• Ensures orders are programmed and nested properly, making corrections where appropriate.
• Checks blueprints for accuracy and clarity.
• Files drawings and processed orders in sequence of production.
• Provides hardware/software technical support.
• Organizes completed programs and data for future retrieval.
• Determines the source of equipment problems or errors within the program and modifies accordingly.
• Supports inventory management systems.
• Maintains inventory records.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
• General office environment, PC use
• Stooping, standing, and manual dexterity
• Light lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)


Required Experience: Type, Skills, and Years:
• One year of experience in CAD/CAM programming in a manufacturing environment
• Two years of college-level coursework in CAD/CAM
• Understanding of geometric tolerance
• Strong technical orientation in PL software and hardware applications
• Ability to read blueprints
• Attention to detail, with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in final work products
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization

Required Education:
• High School or GED (with 2 years of college-level coursework in CAD/CAM)
