Are you looking for your your next clerical operations support job? Castle Metals in Bedford Heights, Ohio,  is looking for a 1st Shift Operations Coordinator to provide administrative support to the warehouse and management departments. The general pay range is $40,000 - $50,000 per year and this position is eligible for overtime. Due to the nature of the job tasks, this position is not eligible for remote work. 

Job responsibilities will include supporting inventory, scheduling and quality control efforts within the location by conducting real time data analysis of various reports.  This role will also be responsible for record keeping and locating material on the floor. Qualified applicants will have intermediate level computer skills and will demonstrate the ability to be organized and show independence.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial or warehouse environment. Working conditions involve office conditions as well as working in a large plant environment that uses forklifts and cranes to move material. This role will spend approximately 30% of their day in the warehouse environment which requires using personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses and steel toed boots.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Essential Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various reports to keep management aware of potential trends, shortages, back orders and order status.
  • Respond to service requests from sales department.
  • Use Castle's ERP system, Oracle, to solve intermediate to advanced operations problems.
  • Input related information into computer to maintain accurate inventory control records.
  • Gather and organize necessary data for production and quality reports.
  • Assist in scheduling production orders based on sales volumes.
  • Coordinates all schedules, lead times and expedites with inventory planners and sales as needed.
  • Support inventory reconciliation and control.
  • Respond to internal and external operations-related requests and queries.
  • Assist in training new employees as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Experience:


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • One year of administrative experience.
  • Production scheduling in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Shop floor control principles.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • PC literacy with strong data entry skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and organization skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work effectively with other functional areas in order to improve service levels, resolve service problems, and reduce costs/improve efficiencies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General office environment (keyboard, mouse, telephone use).
  • 30% work in a Warehouse Environment.
  • Manual dexterity (grasp, hand/wrist movement).
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach.
  • Exposure to powered industrial equipment.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to training plan.
