Position Description 
The Project Manager, under the direction of the Vice President supports the NPS management of municipal wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects across California. Responsibilities include assisting with bid preparation, contract submittals, traffic control plan preparation and permit applications. The Project Manager also collaborates with the Project Team to develop schedules, monitor project progress, coordinate subcontractors, and manage other project-related activities.

Pay: $80,000-$100,000 (Negotiable based on experience)

Essential Job Functions
Under the supervision of the Vice President, the position assists to:
  • Plan, organize and direct activities related to wastewater/stormwater inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation projects.
  • Prepare project budgets, bids, agreements, and contracts.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications and traffic control plans, including generating project specific traffic control plans.
  • Collaborate with the EHST Manager to identify and ensure safe practices.
  • Track all project costs.
  • Develop and update project schedules.
  • Analyze and identify issues, developing solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Serve as the liaison between the NPS management, operations and field personnel to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control projects through the direction of on-site supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Work with dispatch to assign field employees to sites.
  • Monitor project progress, attend project meetings, and prepare and submit status reports. 
  • Assist in bidding by providing quantity takeoffs from plans.
  • Perform all duties as assigned in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards and as assigned by management.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices for contract administration, project management, budget and scheduling.
  • Communication skills and ability to motivate and delegate to accomplish projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment with a wide range of constituents to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to perform physical work indoors and outdoors and sometimes in dirty environments.
  • Ability to pass safety training exams and the background check. 
  • Prioritize safety, conscientious, dependable and quality-minded.
  • Willing to travel throughout California.
 
 
Education and Experience 
·       Minimum of five to seven years’ experience in project coordination/construction management
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Products, including Excel and MS Project
·       PMP certification a plus
