Senior Investment Reporting and Operations Analyst

This position provides support to the financial and performance related analysis of Vulcan’s investment portfolio.  Vulcan Capital invests across a number of asset classes, including private equity, growth equity and venture capital, private credit and public investments.  The position will also be responsible for daily accounting and operational support to the investment management function within Vulcan.  Works cooperatively with senior fund accountants and managers within the Investment Management Finance team. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain investment reference data, portfolio data and performance information in a third-party software platform.
  • Produce investment portfolio performance reporting for quarterly decks used for executive presentations.
  • Collaborate with PE, VC and Private Credit teams to coordinate private investment funding, subscription documents, and tracking of LP and direct private investment valuations.
  • Assist in maintenance of an Azure database that consolidates investment reporting data from multiple fund administrators and external data providers. Using the database, develop and automate Power BI and Excel reporting tools used by the investment and finance teams for holdings, transaction, and returns analysis.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis, investment return calculations, and data tools for investment team.
  • Responsible for implementation and management of internal investment accounting, trading, and reporting systems.
  • Manage vendor/counterparty relationships, contract initiation and amendments
  • Assist with performance reporting projects and initiatives.
  • Support Director and Managers with periodic reporting and requests.

  • CFA or in the process of obtaining CFA
  • Financial analysis or performance measurement experience
  • Experience with maintenance of investment reporting systems or database management

Education/experience/certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in investment industry, reporting or performance background preferred
