The Software Engineer is a multi-faceted role that combines multiple skills to support digital workplace technologies and analytics objectives.  This role seeks to automate or eliminate repeatable tasks and reduce administrative overhead for workplace operations.  In addition, this role will support analytics activities that deliver appropriate data to business consumers.  Together, these activities lead to improved worker and business effectiveness.  The successful Software Engineer will possess analytic skills, IT skills, soft skills, and business acumen.  We work on high impact projects at a fast pace with multiple business partners to solve difficult problems.

  • Collaborate with business customers, internal IT, and technology vendors to design and implement modern digital technologies.
  • Integrate digital workplace technologies with adjacent technologies (identity, security, vulnerability management, IT service and asset management, remote access, backup, directory services, etc.)
  • Ensure stability and security of digital workplace technology through effective endpoint management and timely patching.
  • Create bolt-on solutions to augment off the shelf applications in a low-code, GUI-based application development platform
  • Build, manage, and operationalize data pipelines in support of key data and analytics use cases.
  • Assist non-technical users with curating datasets and data pipelines.
  • Deploy analytics outputs into business processes and applications
  • Guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements
  • Ensure architecture is secure, resilient, scalable, and recoverable
  • Guide understanding and adopting of established and emerging data technologies
  • Provide governance and community management of business process automation, robotic process automation, and integration programs
  • Establish computing configuration and operating standards in coordination with IT colleagues.
  • Actively participate in resolving high-priority outages, troubleshooting efforts, and capacity/availability planning sessions.
  • Support security operations processes by monitoring and reporting anomalies related to devices and identities.
  • Monitor technology trends and seek ways to enhance continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess criticality of services and applications and testing of those deemed critical before patching and upgrades.
  • Provide IT support for issues escalated from level 1 or level 2.
  • Ensure information is flowing freely between the teams to minimize siloed operations and engineering.

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability

Required (3-5 years’ experience +)

  • Experience in a customer facing professional services or technical support roles.
  • Managing IT systems and platforms
  • Use and develop in relational databases, SQL, and T-SQL (MS SQL Server preferred)
  • Modern programming language experience (Python or Node preferred)
  • Experience developing in Azure (preferred) or other cloud infrastructure environments
  • Experience with web services (REST, OAuth, JSON, SOAP, or WSDL), orchestration, and automation
  • Application Support (debugging, troubleshooting, customer support)
  • Experience with continuous engineering or other agile methods to keep pace with frequent changes and to reduce complexity
  • Experience with code repository and version control (GitHub, Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Office, SharePoint, and Teams


  • Experience with systems integration
  • Experience using automation technologies to drive continuous improvement 
  • Experience with “low code” development platforms
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or similar
  • Experience creating sanctioned data models for business consumers along with supporting data dictionaries
  • Experience with Master Data Management concepts, tools, and techniques

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and three plus years’ relevant experience OR, equivalent years’ work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
