The Path Forward Return to Work program at Tyler Technologies is a 16- week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to individuals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. Your mission as a Project Manager:

Our Project Managers serve as the expert in Digital Government best practices, developing roadmaps and mentoring clients in effectively executing their initiatives to become a smart government.  They lead our Implementation Methodology, from scoping to launch ensuring clients achieve success during software implementation.  They manage client scoping deliverables in the sales cycle and the implementation deliverables post-sale with concise definitions of outcomes with a set timeline and resource plan to ensure the final solution is highly consumed by client team.

Additionally, Project Managers coordinate technical deliverables defined in the SOW for each client engagement.

  • Provide leadership and best practices to our clients for use of Socrata solutions in the public sector.
  • Develop thought leadership on the most productive roadmaps that enable our clients to evolve with Socrata solutions into a smart government along a Digital Government maturity model.
  • Validate a solution design, the business and technical requirements, to assess level of effort and develop an accurate statement of work
  • Solicit clear client goals and objectives using existing product functionality and execute a successful implementation plan with the client
  • Document and deliver with quality and excellence all required documentation/deliverables according to the Implementation Methodology for all client engagements, including statement of work, status reports, program design, test plan, and digital center of excellence.
  • Ensure client success by managing client expectations with regard to schedule, scope, quality, risks, budget and outcomes that ensure high client engagement.
  • Provide day-to-day project management, regular status reports, and manage all communications between project team and client.
    Lead change management process for all activities defined outside of contract scope.
  • Facilitate communication within the development team, manage risks, issues, and approaches appropriately
  • Lead client UX tasks such as user research/personas, information architecture, wireframes, content strategy, etc.
  • Build proactive, positive relationships with the sales team.
  • Accountable for service delivery metric targets for client satisfaction and and implementation success criteria


  • Must possess at least 5 years of professional consulting experience in the software industry and/or client-facing technical program management experience.
  • Solution-oriented
  • Experience in and a passion for helping clients and their organizations improve their ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize their organization's productivity within the public sector including concepts in data-driven decision making, data visualization or related topics.
  • Proven ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Highly effective collaborator
  • Excellent organization skills and a rack record of developing scopes and delivering projects on time and within budget

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or Agile certification is a plus.
  • Experience in public sector
