About the Role

Be part of a full stack team whose mission is to create a user experience for the leading Observability platform built by Splunk. Splunk is the only company whose products have been named as leaders in both Security and Observability. You will contribute to the backend and frontend code to create and maintain the IT Service Intelligence product at Splunk.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own moderate complexity features.
  • Design subsystems and work with senior engineers to consider scale, performance, high availability as part of design.
  • Contribute to development tasks, such as bug fixes or enhancements.
  • Also focus on testing, ensuring high-quality software through both manual and automated testing.
  • Actively participate in test planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
  • Develop and maintain effective automated test scripts for feature validation and regression testing.
  • Engage in design discussions to ensure testability and propose improvements to existing test processes considering scale, performance, and high availability.
  • Become proficient in Splunk's core technologies and testing methodologies.

Qualifications

Must-Have:
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 1+ years and a master’s degree
  • Extensive knowledge and production programming experience in at least one of Java/C++/Python
  • Strong experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining automated test scripts using frameworks like Selenium, WebdriverIO, or similar tools.
  • Good knowledge of web standards and modern browsers, responsive design, and of the full web technology stack.
  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes and test-driven development (TDD) practices.

Nice to have skills:

  • Should be able to guide junior developers or interns
  • Experience in working within a Continuous Delivery (CD) development model
