Site Reliability Engineer Intern
This position requires permission to work full time in Australia.

We are delighted to offer two fixed term 12-month, full time, paid internships within our Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) team. The positions are based at our Sydney office.

You will be working with some of the smartest engineers in the field and they will work closely with you to provide you with top rate on-the-job training and experience. This is an unmissable opportunity for a talented student.

  • Exposure to an infrastructure that spreads across six continents.
  • Learn how to maintain the reliability of this environment.
  • Work or develop automation techniques whenever repetitive tasks are identified.
  • Learn the monitoring techniques required for a global scale operation.
  • Work on interconnected datacenters on a constantly scaling infrastructure.
  • Upskill yourself in technologies like: coding, Linux, databases, cloud, web apps, etc.

Who should apply? 

The program is open to students on their final year or who have recently graduated on a Computing Science, Software Engineering or related technical degrees.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Exposure to an IT environment such as computer support or a technical role.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills and customer services.
  • Availability to work on 4x10 shifts that cover one weekend day.
  • Permission to work in Australia.

About the SRE team

The SRE team is a group of highly technical engineers who are tasked with maintaining and developing the reliability, scalability and performance of the ServiceNow infrastructure. The SRE is empowered to drive technical resolutions across the technology stack from hardware through to application and all stops in between. They are also tasked with driving forward the operability of the platform to drive down the number of incidents and to reduce MTTR.

To accomplish this the team combines software development, networking and systems engineering expertise with a strong desire to be challenged by problems of scale and complexity and to make services better for our customers.
