Lead Warehouse Associate

Warehouse/Logistics Langhorne, Pennsylvania

Description

Lead Warehouse Associate

Fortress Power

Langhorne, PA (On-Site) | Full-Time | $25 - $30/hour

About the Role

Fortress Power makes lithium (LFP) battery and energy storage systems for homes and businesses across the US, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Our product moves through our own warehouses in Langhorne, PA and Puerto Rico and through 3PL partner warehouses in California and Miami. Our Langhorne headquarters warehouse is the heart of that operation.

We’re looking for a Lead Warehouse Associate in Langhorne, PA. This is a hands-on warehouse role for someone who does not wait to be told what needs doing. You will run the daily receiving, shipping, inventory, and take ownership of the warehouses and run them as one network. That means knowing what is in each location, making sure it is accurate in the system, getting it in and out on time, and fixing the processes that are broken without waiting to be told.

The products are heavy (battery cabinets and energy storage systems), the pace is fast, and the expectations are high. If you are the kind of person who sees a problem and fixes it before anyone else notices, keep reading.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Direct impact: You are not a cog in a massive distribution center. You will own this warehouse and run it your way.
  • Growth path: As Fortress Power expands, this role has a clear path to take on more responsibility across a multi-site warehouse network.
  • The product matters: These systems power homes and businesses with clean energy. The work you do here gets those systems into the hands of people who need them.

What You'll Do

Run the warehouse network

  • Own daily operations at the Langhorne warehouse and the Puerto Rico warehouse, and manage our 3PL warehouse partners in California and Miami against clear service expectations.
  • Hold each site accountable for receiving accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory accuracy and turnaround on exceptions, and escalate when a partner is not performing.
  • Work with Logistics and supply planning so that stock sits where demand is, every location has complete systems available to sell (inverter, battery and eWay).

Receiving and inventory

  • Own the receiving process at every site: one receiving point, everything staged in the receiving zone, matched to the packing slip and PO, and received into the system the same day.
  • Plan and run container and LTL receiving, including unloading heavy battery cabinets and energy storage systems.
  • Own inventory accuracy across all locations through cycle counts, root-cause work on discrepancies and support for the monthly inventory reconciliation with Finance.

Shipping and delivery

  • Run outbound shipping for residential orders, service and RMA replacements, distributor orders and C&I project deliveries.
  • Book freight and plan delivery requirements (liftgate, heavy lift equipment, site access, last-mile coordination) so missed pickups and failed deliveries do not reach the customer.
  • Build out item-level pick/pack shipping, including bin locations, pick lists, packing standards and labeling.
  • Own lithium battery hazmat shipping compliance for every shipment that leaves our sites.

Systems, reporting and improvement

  • Keep inventory locations, receipts and shipments accurate in our ERP (QuickBooks Enterprise and Acumatica).
  • Produce a weekly warehouse scorecard in Excel covering inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, receiving backlog, open exceptions and partner performance.
  • Write and maintain warehouse SOPs (receiving, put-away, picking, returns and quarantine, hazmat) so any site can run them the same way.
  • Find and fix the causes of errors, extra handling and freight cost, and bring improvements forward without being asked.

Safety, equipment and people

  • Keep every site clean, organized and OSHA compliant.
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment and own their maintenance, including our electric forklifts.
  • Train, schedule and direct warehouse staff and temporary labor as volume requires.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, with at least 2 years supervising a warehouse or running a shipping and receiving operation.
  • Experience managing more than one location or managing 3PL partners.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership, sets priorities without being told, and follows problems through to the end.
  • Strong inventory control background, including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution and month-end reconciliation.
  • Strong Excel skills (sorting, filtering, lookups, pivot tables and basic reporting).
  • ERP or WMS experience (QuickBooks Enterprise or Acumatica preferred) and quick to learn new systems.
  • Experience booking LTL/FTL freight and working with carriers.
  • Forklift certification required, with working knowledge of electric forklift maintenance.
  • DOT hazmat certification, or willingness to get certified within 90 days. Lithium battery experience is a plus.
  • Clear communicator who can hold vendors and partners accountable and work with Finance, Sales, Service and Engineering.
  • Able to travel occasionally to other Fortress sites and partner warehouses.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and work on the warehouse floor.
