The free, short application for the Aspire Bay Area Teacher Residency at Alder GSE is now
open!  The upcoming application deadline is February 5, 2027. 

The Aspire Bay Area cohort is now recruiting a new cohort for the Aspire Bay Area Alder GSE
Teacher Residency Program. This innovative and affordable pathway offers aspiring educators a
direct route to becoming a full-time teacher in our community.

In just one year, residents earn both a Master’s Degree and a Teaching Credential while gaining
hands-on experience in the classroom. The program combines rigorous coursework led by
Alder GSE faculty with a mentorship-based, co-teaching model in the TK12 classroom to
develop highly effective educators.

Upon completion of the residency, graduates receive priority consideration for full-time teaching
positions within Aspire Bay Area

TUITION
$24,820

BENEFITS
$51,000 stipend (Residents are not employees of the school)
$10,000 Golden State Teacher Grant (via either the state or Alder)
Additional funding for SPED candidates may be available
Up to $5,600 in federal grants
Alder Tuition Scholarship of up to $10,000
Up to $20,500 in federal loans
Priority hiring consideration for a full-time position

Requirements / Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree completed by the end of June 2027
-A grade point average (GPA) of 2.65 preferred; under 2.65 GPA should still apply
-Eligible to work in the United States, DACA, permanent residency, or U.S. citizen

● Social Science
● Science
● Multiple Subject

K-12 Partner is looking for candidates to do the residency in the following cities:
● East Palo Alto
● Richmond
● Oakland

KEY ADMISSIONS DATES:

Priority Application Deadline: October 9th, 2026
Fall Deadline: November 6th, 2026
Winter Deadline: February 5th, 2027
Spring Deadline: March 19th, 2027
