The Opportunity
Gaines Investment Trust is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Make Ready Technician to join our team at Mission at La Villita Apartments in Irving.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys transforming vacant apartments into clean, welcoming homes for new residents.
New to multifamily? That's okay. Experience in painting, drywall, construction, maintenance, remodeling, or other skilled trades can provide a great foundation for a career in apartment maintenance.
What You'll Do

  • Prepare vacant apartments for new residents and ensure homes are move-in ready

  • Complete painting, drywall repairs, caulking, cleaning, and general repairs

  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and maintenance repairs

  • Inspect apartment homes and identify items requiring repair

  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders

  • Assist with grounds, common areas, and curb appeal as needed

  • Work with the maintenance and office teams to ensure apartments are completed on schedule

  • Maintain tools, supplies, and work areas

  • Provide professional and courteous service to residents

What We're Looking For

  • Previous make-ready, apartment maintenance, construction, remodeling, or related experience preferred

  • Hands-on experience with painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, appliances, or carpentry is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship

  • Dependable work ethic and ability to manage priorities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to perform physically active work throughout the day

  • Positive and professional attitude

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
