Description

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, provide support services for faculty, students, staff and visitors.  Prepare classrooms and secure facilities daily.  Maintain attendance records, distribute materials and monitor classroom hours.  Provide administrative support on advising, financial aid, student accounts and other university services.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Receives and responds to phone and walk-ins while referring others to appropriate staff or departments; serves as a resource across the organization. Ensures daily or weekly communication updates to faculty, students and staff by disseminating information through relevant channels and posting pertinent materials, including validating copy services.
  • Ensures classroom, equipment and facility readiness for daily activities including conferences, internal meetings, continuing education and academic classes.
  • Updates and analyzes attendance rosters enforcing National University System (NUS) attendance policies and procedures; initiates roster calls and retention procedures under the management direction.
  • Assists with room reservations through Conference Services. Monitors the maintenance schedules of local NUS vehicles.
  • Participates in the collection and safeguarding of tuition and other related school fees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma required; and, one (1) year college credits to understand the higher-education environment, preferred; and,
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in a professional office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience; inclusive;
  • One (1) year in a customer service environment providing administrative support.

  • Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and intermediate knowledge of software programs for used in higher-education setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
