Position Summary:

The Marketing Implementation Engineer will support the marketing analytics, website, optimization, and paid media teams by defining and implementing tracking requirements using tools like Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Salesforce. The position will be responsible for ensuring the system is accurately collecting data across all platforms that have an impact on the marketing metrics. This position will ensure analytics implementations follow best practices for new and existing measurement partners (Facebook, Google, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and other reporting / ad platforms).

Core Duties

  • Manage relationships with third party vendors and partners as well as NUS affiliate partners to ensure NUS has access to data warehouses and data sources.
  • Principal responsible for the implementation and maintenance of digital campaign pixels and conversions for platforms including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Bing Ads, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Responsible for requirement definition, documentation and solution design of integrations and the analytics data layer in support of new and existing web analytics and media measurement tools.
  • Documents data flows across data collection platforms and maintains system documentation.
  • Ensures that tracking implementations do not negatively impact page load times or user experience.
  • Responsible for designing and executing quality assurance tests of analytics tags and reconciling analytics across multiple systems.
  • Works with Marketing Analysts and Developers to ensure tracking capabilities are implemented properly.
  • Ensures that the correct variables and dimensions are captured for data integration across data sources.
  • Work closely with our site optimization and marketing automation teams to support and maintain cross-platform integrations and customer behavior tracking.
  • Performs tag audits, identifies data collection issues and gaps, documents and owns tagging issues.
  • Cross trains Marketing Analysts and Developers on how to utilize implemented technology and tools.
  • Communicates technical information to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifies and execute on opportunities to enhance system’s data collection and business intelligence activities to increase the overall maturity of National University’s marketing analytics.
  • Works closely with the DataOps team to craft and deliver a single source of truth for marketing analytics data.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in digital marketing analytics
  • 3+ years’ experience working in web analytics tools, media measurement platforms, or marketing science
  • 3+ years’ experience with web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Omniture, CDP.)
  • 3+ years’ experience of Tag Management implementation & configuration (Google Tag Manager preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Experience in higher education is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite 365
  • Experience consuming web-based data connections including OData, REST and SOAP APIs
  • Experience with Salesforce APIs and data structures
  • Experience in creating and maintaining sequence, data flow and process diagrams.
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong SQL-based queries (SOQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience in SEO, PPC, or email marketing is a plus.
  • Expert level abilities with GTM (Google Tag Manager) and related applications
  • Creating process, sequence, and context diagrams and data flows
  • Familiar with AdTech and Martech tools in the Consumer Data and Paid Media space e.g. DMPs, CDPs, CRMs, ad servers etc.
  • Knowledge of Multi-touch attribution (MTA) methods and practice.

Other

  • Support Ad-hoc analytics requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
