Essential Functions

  • Performs supportive and routine tasks to support HRBP and client groups.
  • Partners with HRBPs and leaders to support business goals as necessary.
  • Supports HRBPs and leaders in researching and compiling information and metrics to facilitate HR strategy and support HRBP client groups.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries on policy related topics.
    • Responds in a timely manner and provides updates, as needed, to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Coordinates employee onboarding in conjunction with Talent Acquisition, the HR Business Partner, and the hiring manager.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
  • Ensure employee files and records are stored in appropriate electronic format.
  • Enhance employee satisfaction by resolving issues promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field, required.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience as a Human Resources professional.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Experience providing service to a remote workforce preferred.

  • Ability to effectively maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and local employment laws and human resource principles, practices and processes.
  • Ability to actively listen to clients’ circumstances, issues, expectations and need using patience, attentiveness and positivity, and attention to details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to appropriately communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Accepts personal accountability, proactively seeks resolution for personal limitations head-on; and supports honesty and respect towards others, the company and oneself.
  • Proactive self-starter, taking full ownership of HR initiatives and promptly implementing solutions while continuously updating key business stakeholders on progress.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software related to Human Resources Information Systems.
