ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Fulfill current job responsibilities as outlined in the Academic and Finance Advisor job description
  • Ability to pull specific reports and distribute to the team as needed
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines set by the Associate Director
  • Identify current team/individual challenges and work with Associate Director to develop a solution
  • Provide support to all team members and be able to resolve student situations at the lowest level
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and professional
  • Displays high level thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to collect data and present findings to Associate Director as needed
  • Attends and facilitates on going meetings in the Associate Directors absence
  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong understanding of all degree programs, specializations, and courses.
  • Staying current via self-study on NCU policies, including policy updates.
  • Knowledge of operating systems utilized by team members of NCU, including, but not limited to Internet Explorer and MS Office products (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Remain solution-focused and professional in all interactions with students and NCU team members, keeping in mind all NCU policies.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill in operating equipment, such as computer, scanner, fax, copier and phone system
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to facilitate online communication using email and/or other technology-based communication media, including but not limited to: web chat, NCU internal message system(s), Skype, Spark, MS Outlook email.
  • Ability to work well in teams, while contributing to positive and productive team atmosphere, working conditions, etc.
  • Ability to advocate for student without compromising integrity of University
  • Strong understanding of NCU mission, vision, values, goals and strategies that is carried out in the daily tasks and interactions with others.
  • Strong ability to provide friendly student service on all calls and written correspondence regardless of message content.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in academic advising, student services, or training and development in a collegial setting preferred
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications
WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Good working environment with the absence of disagreeable conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
