Position Summary:

The Director of the Inspire Teaching & Learning Program serves in a key national leadership and management role within the Inspire, Harmony, and Fundraising Academy programs. This position provides oversight at the national level for Inspire including management, business plans, growth strategy, communication, and collaboration for a large group of professional development university/affiliate partners across the US.   

Inspire is a professional development program for pre-service and in-service teachers, working with a collaborative of universities and focusing on the best practices for inspirational instruction. The Inspire initiative is designed to make a positive and sustained impact on teaching and learning within Pre-K to 12 schools through enhanced pre-service teacher education programs and targeted professional development for classroom teachers.

Essential Functions:

Leadership & Management of Partners, Affiliates, and K12

  • Develop business plans that support meeting annual contractual milestones
  • Implement and sustain the Inspire dissemination plan and model
  • Provides leadership in the national rollout by developing collaborative relationships with the universities and PK-12 schools/districts to ensure the quality of the Inspire initiative and to provide appropriate training as needed to implement and support best practices
  • Develop & implement subscription model & services with annual revenue projections
  • Schedule virtual meetings monthly with each to review progress
  • Manage Client Performance & Setting Expectations
  • Conduct performance checks for benchmarks –quarterly or monthly zoom meetings
  • Provide support and services that support program goals along with feedback and suggestions
  • Co-develop and manage a communication plan (updates, bulletins, newsletters, zoom meetings, on-going client feedback/surveys)
  • Co-develop and coordinate across university departments the continued development of business processes and services

 Digital Product Strategy & Management

  • Provides leadership in developing digital materials, curricular offerings and teacher professional development materials that support the Inspire Program.
  • Develop a digital plan/strategy that supports the growth, implementation model, and sustainability of the Inspire online/on-demand modules
  • Support and manage across internal departments to develop business processes and services that support clients
  • Co-lead/develop/implement a national marketing plan for Inspire

 Management and leadership

  • Responsible for existing grant partnerships and developing new relationship with zero cost community based partnerships
  • Promotes Inspire at the national level by engaging in a range of activity including promotion at conferences, seminars, partner events, and online/webinars
  • Provides direction and leadership to Inspire staff to carry out the staff/teacher training related to the classroom implementation of Inspire.
  • Provides oversight and fiscal management in accordance with National University System policies.
  • Collaborates with academic colleges/departments as well as relevant campus administrative units to develop and offer the Inspire initiative.
  • Participates in the creation and ongoing development of systems and infrastructures related to Inspire operations.
  • Collaborate with the SVP and Directors of the Harmony and Fundraising Academy to successfully develop and execute the vision/mission of the programs.

Core Function: Administration

  • Build and foster a success-oriented, accountable, high-morale and positive environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth among Inspire staff.
  • Develop and employ performance measurement systems to evaluate and monitor individual and team performance toward goals.
  • Collect and report monthly & upon request outcome metrics
  • Develop and manage the department budget
  • Participate in shared leadership program
  • Participate in monthly leadership planning meetings
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain a university cell phone (policy)
  • Support university travel policy
  • Utilize and maintain updated outlook calendar

 Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory position. Assists with management decisions and activities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 30%

Requirements:

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
  • Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience promoting, building, and managing programs.
  • Experience in developing positive working relationships with education leaders from K-12 and higher education
  • Experience in budget development, management, and oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with academic colleagues and community individuals and organizations; will need to be able to interact at high level of leadership within universities and school districts.
  • Experience in administering or working with programs that serve a student/community population that is educationally, ethnically and linguistically diverse
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize and implement strategic initiatives. Commitment to National University's Vision Statement.
  • Required knowledge of sound personnel practices and procedures, and the ability to plan, organize and direct others in the operation of the various activities of Extended Education and International Programs.
  • Must be an entrepreneurial and innovative leader with expertise in PK-12 educational programs as well as the higher education environment.
  • Experience in teacher education and higher education are preferred
  • Experience with research & evaluation preferred
