Position Summary:

With strategic leadership, develop marketing strategy plans, implement campaigns and sustain accounts within the National University System (NUS) and its affiliates and in partnership with the Marketing Services team. Actively identify and present business growth opportunities and optimizations with agency leads and clients. Manage and execute plans, ensuring campaigns launch on time, within budget and recommends adjustments, as necessary. Ensure the implementation of successful data tracking with quantitative data application to refine plans and achieve affiliate enrollment goals. Undertake additional projects as assigned and provide leadership to staff, assign workload, review work quality, assist in the workload prioritization and guide career development.


Essential Functions:

Responsible for Driving Account Growth:

  • Collaborates in the development of marketing strategies for the NUS and affiliates regarding goals, such as increasing enrollments and institutional awareness of educational and geographic sectors.
  • Collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources, both internally and externally to accurately assess market trends and identify marketing opportunities consisting of consumer research, industry news, competitive information, student and prospect data, etc.
  • Utilizes expert level digital and traditional media strategies with best practices to implement value-added and cost-effective campaigns for assigned affiliates; analyze quantitative results to refine strategies and campaigns for continuous improvement.
  • Present on strategy and on brand opportunities to key stakeholders to drive the business of the account forward


Owns Client Relationship:

  • Ensures client satisfaction and owns reoccurring check-ins for the purpose of adding value to the clients business and ensuring that the agency is meeting client expectations.
  • Proactively provides client with strategic solutions or ideas based on specialized knowledge of industry and cultural trends, products, audiences and competitors.
  • Primary contact for lead client groups


Responsibilities with Project/Campaign Strategy and Execution:

  • Develops specialized knowledge of products, markets, customers, industry & cultural trends, and competitors in support of sales and marketing management. Keep abreast of key developments in the relative markets served by the department and the activities of the competition and partner marketing management and team to create responsive strategies.
  • Executes marketing strategies and campaigns including, maximization on leads/enrollments, elevation of corporate image and message, improvement of quality and processes, increase productivities, applicable database mining and actionable quantitative analysis.
  • Recommends strategic and executional options, including implementation relative to planning; work scheduling; deliverables, results and budget management and reporting; project management; content writing/editing; list procurement; materials delivery; actionable quantitative analysis; vendor integration and management.
  • Manages the project details related to lead cultivation programs for system affiliates resulting in increased lead conversion, brand awareness, word-of-mouth and referrals, including partnering with the Information Technology department to create necessary email protocols, landing pages, micro sites, edits to website content, etc. and ensure high levels of quality within established timeframes.
  • Partners with colleagues to research, identify appropriate topics and target audience for system affiliate programming; conduct surveys and other assessments, as needed, to determine students’ and organizations’ priorities and needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and develop 1 team member, possibly more at the discretion of the Sr. Director, Account Services.
  • Mentor and supervise junior account management team



Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Business Administration, Communications or Marketing; Master’s degree, preferred; and, five (5) to seven (7) years’ relevant in digital and traditional sales, advertising, project management, business community partnerships, fundraising and/or educational admissions program within educational institutions, desirable; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Solid understanding of marketing, advertising and digital marketing, as well as the ability to develop a thorough understanding of admissions procedures, National University System and affiliate organizations, programs and services, both degree and non-degree programs and elements of educational programs including certifications, accreditation, program requirements and financial aid.
  • Highly capable of data analysis to measure impact of marketing strategies and to utilize data to develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Must have experience in managing vendor relationships on a regular basis to ensure project completion and adherence to budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of project management and tools such as Basecamp, Trello or Teamwork, a plus with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set and reach goals, self-motivated; detail-oriented with the ability to look at the big picture, goal and service oriented; professional image and demeanor.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and ability to learn new systems as necessary to succeed with results.
