What We Are Looking For

National University is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our Enrollment team as the Director, Enrollment.

This position is responsible for supporting the Sr. Director of Admissions on new student enrollment growth. Works with others to develop, implement, and manage operational standards and procedure across the admissions operations. Director is responsible for ensuring that all compliance standards are met, including organizational and regulatory standards. Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Admissions to set, monitor and provide overall direction for admissions office. As a leader, operates at the highest level of integrity while providing inspirational leadership by serving as a role model for all team members.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with Sr. Director of Admissions in developing and delivering a yearly, monthly and weekly strategy to ensure admissions objectives are met. Measures delivery against forecast. Ensures that admissions team provides high quality service to prospective students. Reviews daily and weekly customer service standards with admissions. Submits reports, observations, forecasts and other documents as required accurately and on time.
  • Leads smooth day-to-day efforts of admissions team. Determines staffing level needed to meet goals and budget.
  • Actively recruits, hires, trains and develops new team members.
  • Coaches and develops Associate Director(s) of Admissions to prepare for future admissions director role.
  • Using interview observations and auditing phone calls, actively coaches direct reports to improve skill sets and customer service levels. Thoroughly completes required phone and interview observation forms.
  • Influences campus management team to ensure adequate resources are provided to meet application goals.
  • Monitors team performance and identifies areas for team growth and development
  • Collaborates with the campus Financial Aid, Enrollment, Registrar to periodically assess state of admissions team performance and progress is in alignment to the organizations objectives.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Develops and implements short and long term strategies to enroll prospective students.
  • Develops and implements new processes and systems to improve overall admissions/enrollment effectiveness.
  • Ensures performance and service standards are met by the Admissions team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability with enrollment information systems and web-based recruitment.

  • Skill in operating equipment, such as personal computer, fax, copier, phone system.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the needs of prospective Students.
  • Ability to compute and comprehend rates, ratios and percentages.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective Learners, University associates, licensing and accrediting agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Ability to build and motivate a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required
  • 3 years plus of leadership experience in enrollment or admissions required
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications

Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
