Manager, Dean Support

With strategic leadership provide management to the administrative team, related office and systems operations directly and/or through Senior leadership. Serve as central point of contact to facilitate communication and administrative projects. Provide leadership to the administrative team and Executive level management on basic operations, special events, student success initiatives and communication.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides day-to-day leadership to administrative staff including but not limited to recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, mentoring, assigning projects, training, performance feedback and correcting employees, as well as, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Facilitates meetings and special events in collaboration with senior leadership and other designated parties.
  • Manages internal and external staff, faculty and/or student inquiries received by the College by assigning to appropriate team member.
  • Creates files, dashboards and data systems for programs, other key activities and events for the College.
  • Conducts on-boarding processes for administrative support team including creating initial training schedule for new hires.
  • Develops operational policies, processes and procedures including office/management systems impacting payroll, correspondence, filing and data archival systems, as well as reviews and approves supply requisitions for College departments through staff.
  • Collaborates with Senior leadership in the development of an annual budget including scheduling expenditures, variance analysis; tracing financial transactions and initiating corrective actions in collaboration with Senior leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Hire, train, develop, and supervise ~5-10 staff team members.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and seven (7) years in a client-facing, professional with high-volume environment to include three (3) years’ experience in leading and managing an administrative team within a higher education environment, preferred; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to hire, train, develop, evaluate, lead and direct work and discipline staff, taking corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies and Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Ability to mediate, resolve conflict, interviewing skills, handle multiple tasks and action-oriented with proven ability to make decision and use independent judgment.
  • Advanced use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community including public relations skills.

Travel: Travel required as necessary.
