Description

Senior Product Designer

Moz’s UX team is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help create amazing user experiences for our suite of products and to solve hard, yet exciting, customer problems. You will work closely with our Product and UX team to influence high-level requirements, then turn those into interactive flows and beautiful, intuitive, functional designs. As you gain knowledge of the product and industry, you will pitch new ideas and turn new, complex problems into engaging experiences with a focus on usability, performance and accessibility.

When you aren’t actively working on a project, you are proactively improving processes within the company to make your work more efficient for the next project, or partnering with the User Research team to gain a deeper understanding of our customers, which will fuel your future decisions.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for Senior Designers that

  • Own the design process for their projects from start to finish - including journey mapping, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing - all the way to the final hand-off to developers
  • Have experience designing applications, experiences, products, and services that balance customer needs, business objectives, and technological constraints
  • Have experience with standard research methods like usability testing, interviews, and data analysis. (Bonus points if you know what an URQBS is)
  • Have enough experience, understanding, and context designing software, that they know when to use established patterns and processes, and when to break them
  • Know how to properly make and evaluate tradeoffs, weighing the pros and cons for all decisions, large and small
  • Have experience in building design systems that are scalable and easy to understand
  • Effectively articulate the thinking behind their work to their team(s) and stakeholders
  • Work to understand, vet, and improve customer problems and solutions, as well as process problems and solutions
  • Pair and collaborate with other Designers by sharing best practices, ideation techniques, and usability principles
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the broader UX team by holiscally improving the way we approach our craft
  • Have experience designing software that displays large sets of complex data
  • Understand and embrace our core values: Transparency, Accountable, Generous, Fun, Empathetic and Exceptional.

Requirements

  • You have 4+ years of experience designing for digital products
  • You have experience in consumer or B2B SaaS and understand the mechanics and economics of a SaaS business
  • You also have experience designing for large sets of displayed data
  • Formal education or certification in UX/Product Design/Interaction Design

Nice to have

  • Understanding and experience with SEO
  • You have worked on marketing analytics software

How to apply

If you’re excited to be part of Moz’s mission, and want to help shape the future of our product, please send us your resume and a link to your portfolio with 2-3 case studies that demonstrate:

  • Your design process
  • Your growth and learnings throughout the project
