HR Generalist (Temporary)

Human Resources Remote - Canada Vancouver, British Columbia Ottawa, Ontario


We’re looking for an experienced and motivated HR Generalist to foster and enable engagement, community and a healthy working culture for a growing global team.

You bring a background in organizational and change management practices to help us build best practices within our organization. This position entails both strategic and tactical functions – assessing the needs of the business and translating them into action that will help grow and develop the business, our leaders and employees.

Reporting to the Director of HR, you’ll be working with a group of talented leaders who genuinely care about the well-being of their teams, our People Operations and HR team, as well as supporting Moz Group employees. You’ll work on projects that affect everyone in the organization to deliver a best in class people program that is flexible as our business evolves.

This is a fully-remote, temporary, full-time position that will last for 12+ months.

Responsibilities (What you will do!)

  • Provide thought leadership and execution of people programs and initiatives while partnering with the People Operations team to deliver exceptional HR services that help drive and support business outcomes.
  • Identify development opportunities, working closely with the management team and leaders on career development, performance, and managing compensation.
  • Deliver performance management coaching and provide guidance to employees and managers on effective communication and expectation setting in support of continuous feedback.
  • Handle employee issues and provide guidance for resolution.
  • Utilize data to educate leaders, helping to drive improvements and continuous feedback, and support DEI initiatives.
  • Strive for operational excellence in all HR activities with an ownership mindset while identifying opportunities for efficiency in order to scale our programs.
  • Implement and document HR procedures and make continuous improvements to our processes and also elevate a sense of high reliability and trust with our internal, Mozzer, customers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years Canadian Human Resources experience or training with a couple of years in specialty areas of Canadian HR (compensation, learning & development, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in high tech and/or growth environment preferred.
  • Proven experience in coaching, developing and influencing managers and leaders with a strong balance of EQ and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated track record in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
  • Experience with HR management tools like 15Five, Culture Amp, CompXL, and/or Jobvite.
  • PHR/SHRM certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, HRIS familiarity.
