Description

ABOUT THE MAPLES AND CALDER BVI INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

We invite applications from Belongers and Virgin Islanders to work within our various legal teams during the summer months as part of our inaugural Summer Internship Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, build a professional network and commence a future career.

The internship commences in September and takes place over two weeks. Interns are provided a structured programme of projects, workshops and networking opportunities that complement our hands-on work experience and, together, are designed to help students and aspiring lawyers to improve business knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills, and confidence in the workplace.

APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY

Applications for our Internship Programme are considered annually and open for 2026 on 20 July 2026.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who are:

  • in their last years of secondary education (usually, studying A-levels) or have started tertiary education; and
  • at least 18 years of age at the start of the internship placement.

Please complete the online application and ensure the following documentation is uploaded:

  • Copies of certificates evidencing the candidate's high school passes, degrees, diplomas, etc.
  • Copies of transcripts from high school to date along with the most recent grade report; and
  • CV (inclusive of club membership, sports involvement, school awards and volunteer participation)

Note that failure to provide the documents above in a timely manner may result in delays in the review of your application. In addition to the above, within the application form you will be required to provide a personal statement explaining why you have chosen to pursue a Maples Group summer internship and what you hope to achieve by participating in the programme. You will need to include what you anticipate learning in this programme and how this internship will benefit future career opportunities for you.
