Main Purpose of the Role: 
Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Spanish for the 2024-2025 School Year. 
 
The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of teaching Spanish effectively to a wide ability-range of Middle and High School students. As a school we seek to find an individual who is committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree or masters in a related field.
 
Key Responsibilities:  
(The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)
  • Teach 5 classes
  • Guide an advisory 
  • Keep accurate grades using Standard Based Grading 
  • Communicate with students and families with feedback and progress on academic learning throughout the year.    
 
The Middle and High School Spanish teacher is expected to:
  • Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of Middle and High School students.
  • Provide opportunities for student expression using spoken, written, and electronic forms of communication.
  • Provide a safe learning environment in which students can take intellectual risks.
  • Understand and apply a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.
  • Identify students who need additional academic assistance and be able to refer such students appropriately.
  • Provide reports on student progress and maintain open communication with ensuring that these reports are accurate and constructive.
  • Use learning resources and technology to effectively enhance lessons 
  • Create an environment that is respectful and fosters a global mindset.
  • Attend functions in support of school and community.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed presentation skills.
  • Effective organizational skills including but not limited to lesson planning, implementing units of study, differentiating instruction, designing and implementing assessments.
  • Highly developed collaborative skills and the ability to plan, implement and review effective curriculum and teaching
  • Exercise good classroom management with the use of fair and consistent standards and appropriate expectations that are clearly articulated to the students.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two year’s Middle and/or High School teaching experience required
