The Opportunity
Litera is looking for a Lead PHP Software Engineer to join a small team of developers and contribute code to our core web products for the PS Ship Product. A part of the Litera family, PS Ship is a leading provider of SaaS solutions for shipping, carrier invoice processing, and inbound package tracking.
Our Tech
• We write our core web apps in PHP and Python with just the right amount of JavaScript.
• We deliver great applications and quality code using Continuous Integration and GitHub
• We host those great applications in Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud
• We are taking over the mobile shipping world with our iOS app (written in Objective C)
• And, because our clients need us to, we speak MSSQL and IIS.
Your Day-To-Day
The work is a mix of new feature development and ongoing maintenance. We have a large code base and rely on automated tests to ensure solid releases. We’re looking for someone to write quality code and provide thorough documentation. In addition to contributing code, you’ll participate in the testing and review of code written by other team members.
What You'll Be Doing
• Become an expert on our application and contribute quality code.
• Providing technical leadership to a small team of developers
• Perform QA duties, documenting bugs and solutions.
• Other programming, testing and support tasks as assigned by your supervisor
• Bring your passion for development, your coding skills and collaborative abilities to this position. You will be challenged, as we are, to deliver superior systems to our clients across the nation.
What You Bring
• 4+ years of professional PHP product development experience
• A degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and design principals
• Solid understanding of web development fundamentals; HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience managing source code with Git (Github)
• Experience with Python & the Django framework
• Experience with ASP.NET
• Familiarity with Microsoft tech stack (SQL Server, IIS, PowerShell, etc.)
