This position will be responsible for utilizing analytical tools to perform assay development, structural elucidation of small molecules, biopolymers, and large molecules.  The successful candidate will thrive in a team oriented, collaborative environment. Job requirements include developing new analytical methods, optimizing current platforms, efficient sample analysis, data interpretation, and effectively communicating results to cross functional teams.



Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs independent hands-on experimental work utilizing mass spectrometry, including high res MS, liquid chromatography, and other analytical techniques.
  • Performs data analysis and interpretation.
  • Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance and qualification of equipment (i.e., MS, HPLC, etc.) and software
  • Generation of technical documents and technical presentations
  • Coordinate activities of outside resources such as consultants, vendors
  • Ensure execution of work assignments by laboratory staff to meet cycle times.
  • Evaluate and/or develop new technologies and identify proprietary technical opportunities
  • Write and review analytical procedures and SOPs as needed



  • PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry or master’s degree with 7-10 years of experience
  • Experience applying liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques to small molecules and biopolymers.
  • Experience running TOF, Orbitrap, ion trap MS instrumentation strongly preferred
  • Proficient with HPLC/UHPLC and method development
  • Experience using LCMS to analysis of biopolymers is a plus
  • Knowledge of targeted/untargeted Metabolomics is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot mass spec instrumentation
  • Familiarity with various mass spec software (Thermo, Agilent, Waters, etc.)
  • Understanding of organic chemistry
  • Data recording, interpretation, and management
