Summary:

The International Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and long-term development of the International Operations department. This includes analyzing trends, developing processes, and ensuring all international trips both on and off fleet are operated legally, safely, and at the highest level of customer service, from quoting to the final debrief.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the primary point of contact for the NOC, bases, and crews regarding any international trip concerns.
  2. Oversee the International Operations Specialists to ensure a thorough analysis of trips and a proactive handling of all current and potential international trip concerns.
  3. Manage the development and implementation of all department processes and procedures.
  4. Lead all department hiring in conjunction with the Director of Operations.
  5. Plan and administer the performance evaluations for the department.
  6. Manage the department schedule and PTO requests to ensure appropriate staffing based on the projected workload and personnel incentive consideration
  7. Develop and implement department training material and procedures, as well as keep training records.
  8. Ensure all aspects of special international travel requirements, such as country specific blanket permits, BOE Renewals, ECATS filings, and CORSIA requirements are finalized in a timely manner.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with vendors and partners for all facets of international operations.
  10. Oversee the trip release process for all international Jet Linx operated flights and ensure all flight restrictive items are complete prior to release.
  11. Identify and communicate any weather systems or threats that could affect international trips.
  12. Reconcile fuel, FBO, and handling expense discrepancies for international trips with vendors and the Jet Linx Accounting department.
  13. Manage the distribution and content of international trip reviews to ensure issues and potential solutions are being communicated appropriately.
  14. Gather information to ensure Service Improvement Opportunities (SIOs) are created and updated as necessary for international trips.
  15. Lead debriefing discussions to identify root causes of problems and work to develop more efficient procedures.
  16. Analyze and improve upon the flight tracking process for increasing global operations
  17. Ensure international flight log entry and verification is being done correctly and in a timely manner.
  18. Create and distribute a daily operation plan for the department as necessary.
  19. Maintain recurrent and initial training event records in FOS and administer training events when due.
  20. Share in the on-call rotation as needed.
  21. Demonstrate Jet Linx’s core values and “Supply the High” in all interactions.
  22. Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team
  • Familiarity with general aviation flight operations and Flight Operation System (FOS)
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects, and relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the company and its customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative
  • Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative to research and resolve problems
  • Ability to multi-task and complete work within assigned timelines under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible, non-standard hours
  • Operate office equipment as needed

 Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5-10 years of international trip planning experience
  • FAA certificate (Dispatcher, Flight/Ground Instructor, or Commercial Pilot)
  • Previous part 135 experience with high volume and/or large fleet size
  • A combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to the standards listed above that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered

 Physical Requirements:

  • Majority of work is completed in a normal office work environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to complete physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing to perform daily work functions
  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis
