As a Staff Software Engineer on the AI and Cloud Engineering team, you will drive the design and development of scalable enterprise applications that power Gigamon’s industry-leading traffic visibility solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative features for both public and private cloud environments, directly influencing the security and performance of our customers’ hybrid infrastructures. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, shape architectural decisions, and help define the future of cloud observability at Gigamon. Remote work from the Bay Area will be considered.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement GigaVUE traffic visibility solutions across public and private cloud platforms, including ESXi, NSX-T, AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate AI/ML components into production services, including model serving, feature pipelines, and inference orchestration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Product, UX, QA, Support) to address technical challenges and deliver proof of concepts for critical modules and new frameworks.
  • Review code, provide recommendations on coding standards and best practices, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful web services and microservices using modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Contribute to project planning, estimation, and delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases.
  • Engage with customers and third parties to gather requirements and feedback, translating them into impactful product features.

What you’ve done:

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more public or private cloud platforms (e.g., ESXi, NSX-T, AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, Kubernetes).
  • 3–5 years of experience in web technology development, with strong skills in Java/J2EE architecture and service-oriented design.
  • Proficiency with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and ORM technologies like Hibernate.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Practical exposure to AI/ML technologies in production environments.
  • Skilled in scripting languages and frameworks, including JavaScript, Python, Node.js, and JSON.
  • Strong background in database technologies such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Postgres, HBase, or OpenTSDB.
  • Experience with source/version control systems (e.g., GIT) and project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, with a track record of delivering robust, well-tested code.
  • Experience working in distributed development environments.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role is $152,000 - $190,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to the terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
