What You’ll Do
- Lead Creative Projects: Take ownership of up to five (5) weekly product development projects from concept to completion, collaborating with the Creative Director for high-level guidance.
- Oversee Revisions: Manage and execute product design revisions based on Buyer or Licensor feedback, ensuring all designs meet quality standards and align with brand goals.
- Provide Design Direction: Work closely with the Creative Director to influence the overall creative direction and mentor junior designers as needed.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with the Product Development team to integrate expertise in bag construction, materials, and price point limitations into product designs.
- Multi-Category Expertise: Lead the creation of graphics for all accessory categories and apparel, showcasing the ability to adapt to different styles and customer needs.
- Trend Leadership: Conduct advanced trend research to stay ahead of market movements and provide insights that drive innovative design solutions.
- Create Original Art: Develop high-quality, original artwork when assets are unavailable, maintaining the creative integrity of the brand.
- Innovate & Inspire: Actively participate in team brainstorms, design challenges, and workshops, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
- Presentation Support: Assist in creating compelling and visually engaging presentation boards for internal and external meetings, effectively communicating design concepts and strategies.
- Engage with Partners: Occasionally sit in on meetings with high-level partners, providing creative insights and representing the design team’s expertise.
- Extensive Experience: At least 7 years’ experience in graphic design, with a proven track record of leading complex design projects.
- Educational Background: Degree in Graphic Design, Communication, Art, Illustration, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Mastery: Exceptional proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to teach and guide team members on advanced techniques.
- Project Leadership: Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-stakes projects, ensuring deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
- Versatile Design Skills: Expertise in creating diverse art styles and graphics tailored to varied customer demographics and market trends.
- Strong Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for presenting ideas, feedback, and solutions effectively.
- Trend Expertise: Deep understanding of retail trends, pop culture, and licensing standards, ensuring designs are fresh and relevant.
- Creative Vision: Passion for design and innovation, with a commitment to driving the creative process forward.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Proven ability to troubleshoot design challenges and provide creative, effective solutions under tight timelines.
- Team Leadership: Experience mentoring junior designers, fostering their growth while ensuring consistent creative output.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align design strategies with business goals, demonstrating a strong understanding of brand positioning and market dynamics.
This position is based in Burbank, California and does require a 3 day commitment to being in office.
