BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, EMEA DISTRIBUTORS
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for business development and management of sales to existing distributor accounts within an assigned portfolio. Current territories include Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Greece and Israel. The BDM will coordinate marketing efforts, product launches and sales promotions with assigned national retail partners to achieve sales and profit objectives. This position has 2 direct reports.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage a portfolio of key distributor accounts.
- Hold full responsibility for sales & distribution within the assigned markets via an appointed distributor.
- Identify and grow opportunities with clientele and collaborate with VP Sales EMEA to ensure strategic growth attainment plan.
- Lead project management for assigned account activity.
- Forecasting activity to ensure appropriate inventory levels and recurring monthly revenue achievement.
- Create and effectively communicate internal projects to drive revenue for assigned accounts.
- Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives of portfolio.
- Coordinate with Marketing team on retail level-based activities.
- Support national events and trade shows as required.
- Participate in ongoing training to learn about new and existing product lines and improve sales techniques.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction with assigned portfolio.
- People management responsibilities to include identification and fostering of individual team member growth plans. Provide team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction and motivation to enable their success.
- Develop measurable quarterly KPI’s for team members. Maintain a monthly review schedule with direct reports and department team leads.
- Hold team responsibility for achieving quarterly goals and KPI’s.
- Authorising holiday and arranging sickness cover for team members
- Secure strategic sales promotion activity/features within defined budget criteria
- Assisting in projects assigned by VP Sales EMEA
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Proven account management or other relevant experience, preferably within FMCG markets
- Fluency spoken & written in English.
- Proven experience in leading and facilitating strategic conversations at corporate level.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while maintaining attention to details.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Highly organized and efficient time management skills
- Demonstrate consistent professionalism.
- Ability to travel on a weekly basis.
- Experience with ERP or CRM systems preferred (MS Dynamics NAV)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- You will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to move at an extremely fast pace.
- Able to work and influence cross-functionally.
- A strong sales professional who has a whole array of relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Manages Complexity and ability in problem-solving.
- Flexible and proactive approach to workload.
