Logistics Lead
Description
The Logistics Lead – Outbound Operations position will be responsible for supporting management in the daily output schedule, ensuring proper staffing, process setup, and information availability for the shift. This role involves quality control checks, employee training, and the daily monitoring of activities within the assigned area to achieve established goals and targets.
Support supervisor and/or Manager in leading the logistics team when appropriate.- Help the team understand assignments and provide any training or coaching.
- Support in Identifying training needs and implementation of new processes by providing feedback to both the logistics leadership and employees.
- Support in maintaining and updating any standard work procedures
- Support in ensuring the smooth day-to-day execution of logistics operations.
- Act as the first point of contact for problem-solving within the team when supervisor or manager is unavailable. .
- Support supervisor and/or Manager in communicating and supporting the team with achieving goals, expectations, and updates to team members.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordination.
- Support in Identifying opportunities for process improvement within the team.
- Support supervisor and/or Manager in implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Finish tasks and requests assigned by the management team within the agreed time frame.
- Interact and work cross functionally to resolve issues and make improvements within the department.
- Additional responsibilities will be added as necessary to support the business needs.
- 3 or more years of experience in logistics in a fast-moving consumer product organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, and establish best practices
- Experience with distribution paperwork (pick tickets, BOL’s, pallet headers etc.)
- Flexible personal style to work with a diverse group of personalities. Professional, yet personable demeanor, friendly presence and helpful attitude.
- Ability to handle constantly changing flow of processes; can multi-task effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
- Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Team oriented mentality
- Willingness to learn
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently with autonomy to manage competing priorities
