Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world.

Emerging Brands: Funko Games, Mondo
The Emerging Brands division encompasses two important growth brands at Funko: Mondo and Funko Games.

Funko Games is an invention, design, and playtesting studio specializing in board games. Our cadre of creative thinkers and talented tinkerers melds unbounded inspiration with intensive research and rigorous consumer testing to shape best-in-class products. Our office is in the University District of Seattle, WA.

Mondo is a pop culture brand, built for collectors. We work with incredible artists who share our passions to create posters, soundtracks, toys, and more – products that share a rare, unexpectedly vivid, and timeless quality. Originally founded in Austin, TX, our Mondo team now collaborates across the country, with an office in Seattle shared with Emerging Brands.

What You’ll Do

• Art Directs vinyl soundtrack release. Working with freelance and in-house artists to develop packaging that creatively suits each IP.
• Licensor relations – Liaises with studios, filmmakers, composers, talent, and others to satisfy briefs, and in partnership with production and licensing, provides full service to furnish a soundtrack project from beginning to end.
• Works with Production to ensure art files are supplier-ready and answers questions to ensure exceptional execution leads to salable products 
• Work with our Content Team to assist in the documentation of your project-by-project creation process for customer-facing videos, podcasts, and print mediums. 
• Seeks out artists, illustrators, and designers, developing and maintaining relations and portfolios for concept pitching.
• Actively researches the market, staying up to date on the media landscape, and new releases
• Serves as an important voice on the larger Creative Team, consisting of Creative Directors, Art Directors, Content Creators, The Art Department, and Marketing, to ensure Mondo stays at the forefront of design and is a paragon and advocate of the artist community. 
• Works to create and maintain an atmosphere of creativity, positivity, and enthusiasm; ability to give and receive helpful feedback and critiques

What You’ll Bring

• At least 5 years’ experience in the recorded music industry
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in Art direction
• Knowledge about vinyl records and the pressing process strongly preferred
• Exceptional vision across a variety of product types; deep understanding of art/design principles 
• Ability to translate commercial business needs into inspirational artwork; ability to find creative solutions to artistic challenges and problems
• High level of attention to detail
• Exceptional time management to meet agreed upon deadlines 
• A passion for music
• A home stereo set up with a turntable would be extremely helpful
• Able to work with a high degree of self-direction, but also within a collaborative creative team
• Expert in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) or other design programs (ZBrush, Maya, etc.)

Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121,500 - $151,500 annually. ​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This is a full-time hybrid employment position based out of either our San Diego or Burbank CA office.
