This DC People & Culture Manager position is responsible for assisting in the creation and delivery of the People & Culture strategy for the Buckeye AZ Distribution Center, including the development and implementation of People & Culture plans and programs that enable operations to achieve its strategic objectives. In partnership with the Senior Director of People and Culture, this individual is responsible for providing People & Culture leadership and support for the Distribution Center, focusing on topics such as talent acquisition, talent and leadership development/ training, engagement, employee retention, employee relations, and administrative/technical support, as well as providing generalist support to the distribution DC Senior Leaders. 

What You’ll Do

  • Partners with the Senior Director of People & Culture to provide full-spectrum People & Culture support, including talent and performance management, succession planning, engagement, positive workplace environment, organizational development, change management, employee relations, and headcount/position management and reporting.
  • Leads organizational design and headcount management activities within the DC, including supporting the execution of all items that require Compensation and Benefits activities. 
  • Resolves employee relations and ethics and integrity investigations. Leads employee relations initiatives to ensure an engaged workforce, implementation of retention efforts and a respectful workplace environment. Promotes and strengthens the positive work environment by actively listening and appropriately responding to employee and leadership concerns with a sense of urgency.
  • Supports DC talent acquisition, including building external talent pipeline, identifying internal talent needs and gaps, and creating strategies for employer branding initiatives.
  • Identifies training and leadership development needs and implements solutions. Partners to facilitate training sessions on topics such as diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, leadership development, and team building for the DC team.
  • Supports talent management and everyday performance management initiatives for Distribution. Advises leaders on the coaching process, including disciplinary actions and terminations (with partnership with Legal and Sr Director of People & Culture.)
  • Leads succession planning process, including the preparation for the identification and development of high potential employees and bench strength, potential successors, and critical needs within the DC. Helps leaders develop an internal growth plan and direction for employees.
  • Maintains close and trusted partnerships between Everett People & Culture teams, maintaining alignment with key partners and sharing information with all parties on a regular basis to ensure alignment and consistency between operations and DC People & Culture.
  • May also administer People & Culture programs including but not limited to recognition programs, People & Culture projects, and other initiatives that create a positive work experience. Evaluate the status and productivity of programs and makes recommendations to improve their efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Act as People & Culture COE for key Operations and Distribution projects or workstreams as needed.
  • Travel 10%-20%  

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading HR in a distribution center.
  • Must demonstrate business acumen.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate ability to build partnerships/relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging interpersonal skills to build trust.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite including experience with Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint. Experience with UKG and SharePoint a plus.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability and flexibility.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This position is based in Buckeye, AZ.
