The role

We are looking for a Head of Product within our Data team. Data is key to Funding Circle’s multi-product strategy to attract and say yes to more customers. We aim to continually enhance our data capabilities in ways that will give us a competitive advantage. Whether it’s through advanced analytics to drive actionable insights or next generation credit strategy model development, data is at the core of what we do to help small businesses win.

Reporting to the VP Data, this person will be a credible, senior leader who has the experience and impact to take us through the next phase of our data capability evolution leading the Data Product team.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage and develop the Data Product team to drive high performance and a high engagement together with the data leadership team 

  • Develop the data product strategy in line with customer and business needs as well as the data strategy for the US and UK business 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other product teams, to ensure alignment of Data team priorities with business objectives 

  • Be a data champion, enabling the transformation of the way data is thought of, implemented and leveraged at Funding Circle 

  • Partner with the Head of Data Engineering and Platform to manage the day to day execution of the Data delivery roadmaps and OKRs 

  • Drive definition, implementation and delivery of data products across the business and inspire new opportunities for the business 

  • Ensure operational performance of data products and services is delivered within agreed Service Level Objectives, including key reporting

What we’re looking for 

  • Experience leading and developing a team of data product managers, providing them guidance and mentorship 

  • Demonstrate track record of successfully delivering high quality data products that deliver direct or indirect revenue, as well as customer stickiness or engagement

  • Strong business acumen linked with a passion to create the best data products to help small businesses win and grow 

  • Experience in creating a data product strategy in line with the product and data strategy of the business. 

  •  Strong understanding of the data platform capabilities and infrastructure (Datawarehouse/ Data Lake) required to deliver data products 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior, technical and non technical stakeholders

  • Passion and experience in helping create a sense of data community and in helping increase the data maturity within the business by collaborating closely with business stakeholders and product community and by evangelising data as a product
