The role

We are looking for a Senior DevEx Engineer.

The Developer Experience team is committed to reduce friction in the engineering workflow by providing the tooling and platforms that makes engineers happy in their day to day work and enables them to move fast.

We sit inside the larger ‘Reliability & Infrastructure’ team and work alongside and closely with the SRE Core Practices team.  We’re currently growing and looking to hire by strengthening our capabilities in our Developer Experience tooling, maintaining our current tools and platforms, and developing new tools for FC engineers.

What will you be doing?

  • Automation: we’re using cutting-edge technology to facilitate automation and repeatability. We practise continuous integration and are working towards continuous deployment.
  • Build: our engineers are building and expanding our highly-available architecture to handle over $2 billion in loans originated through our pipeline.
  • Changing the Game: we’re building infrastructure that has a competitive edge; we’re using technologies such as  Kubernetes, Apache Kafka , Serverless
  • Collaboration: you’ll be expected to forge deep bonds with your business counterparts to truly understand the needs of our Borrowers and Investors. We work in an Agile environment including pair programming and daily standups.
  • Innovating: You’ll be helping shape a culture of SLOs within engineering
  • Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day

What we’re looking for 

  • Somebody knowledgeable and experienced with building, running and supporting Kubernetes clusters in a highly available, high traffic Production environment
  • Experience working in cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Familiarity with one or more coding languages, preferably Go, Python, Ruby, Node
  • Troubleshooting experience in complex environments using monitoring and logging tools (We use Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus & Graylog to name a few)
  • Knowledge and experience with Terraform
