As a QA Engineer, you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by demonstrating that existing and new products meet the highest standards of security, reliability, performance, and user-friendliness.  Your job duties will encompass writing automated test cases against endpoint agents, writing automated test cases for user facing functionality, maintaining and enhancing the test automation framework, and optimizing test automation throughout the continuous integration pipeline.


  • Writing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test cases.
  • Writing Java and/or C# integration points for automated testing.
  • Identifying product defects and submitting reports detailing customer and product impacts.
  • Performing root cause analysis with team members when defects are identified.
  • Creating regression test plans to ensure new functionality doesn’t break or degrade existing functionality.
  • Being the advocate for our customers.
  • Participating in story authoring, sizing, and demo sessions for product features.
  • Learning and promoting cross-team software functionality, technical requirements and testing techniques.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders and teams.
  • Working as a member of a scrum team that will iterate on enabling integration of insider risk security applications that impact the success of Code42.


  • Familiarity with software quality principles.
  • Strong analytical thinking; ability to understand complex systems and design tests around integration and interface points.
  • Interest in testing complex multi-platform software products (services preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills; flexibility to complete multiple tasks under tight and competing schedules.
  • Troubleshooting skills for endpoint applications and/or operating system issues.
  • Ability to clearly communicate testing ideas to peers and non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment, if not currently employed by Code42.


  • Software development with Java, C#, C++ or other object-oriented languages.
  • Ability to diagnose issues with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins or Concourse.
  • Familiarity with productivity tools such as Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks.
  • Load/Performance/Scalability testing experience of multi-tier applications.
  • Familiarity with security and/or penetration testing.

We offer a competitive salary that includes base + company bonus + equity.  Final salary will be based upon experience and geographic location. 

Salary range: $90,000-$110,000
