Position Summary:
BRG seeks a full-time, experienced Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).  This position’s responsibilities encompass BRG’s DEI efforts as well as human resource efforts to assess and enhance employee engagement.  The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting firm and department goals. The Manager of DEI will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.  This is a hybrid position located in Washington, DC.

This is an individual contributor position.  Depending on years of experience, this position could be considered at the manager or senior manager level.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design and implementation of the firm’s DEI strategy that includes short-term and long-term goals, KPIs, action plans, and metrics to assess and track progress over time.  Additionally, manage how we embed and mature our DEI practices for everything that touches the employee lifecycle (e.g. recruiting, learning and development, performance management, recognition, employee engagement).
  • Lead the delivery of programs that support our DEI strategy by leveraging what exists and building out and customizing programming based on the needs of the organization.
  • Drive DEI goals through program management and clearly defined project plans. Manage implementation activities, develop processes, develop documentation and communications for program/process rollout and provide ongoing support.
  • Design, develop, and monitor appropriate metrics, reports, and dashboards to track qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities for improvement, track progress, and determine meaningful success. Utilize information to strategize ways to enhance and improve results as needed. Communicate metrics and progress towards goals to firm leadership.
  • Act as lead advisor on areas related to DEI to drive the development and implementation of strategies and tactics for diversity recruiting and the development and retention of a robust pipeline. Provide a perspective and lens on recruiting processes and tools ensuring they are free from bias and adverse impact.
  • Manage the firm’s Leg Up Program.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications teams to shape strategies to promote employee engagement, inclusion, and regularly communicate internal and external DEI initiatives, events, and progress.
  • Manage and partner with the organization's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to drive business specific outcomes to support our DEI priorities.
  • Partner with Human Resources on AAP compliance and execution of goals.
  • Monitor and report on DEI developments, trends and emerging issues.
  • Role will require occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in related field.
  • 7+ years relevant business experience. Demonstrated corporate experience as a diversity, equity, and inclusion professional.
  • Prior experience at a management consulting firm, law firm, or other professional services firm is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and trends to understand the business landscape and build strategies and solutions.
  • Effective priority setting. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management, partnership, and change management experience. Experience building relationships throughout a business to assure program and employee needs are met.
  • Strong organizational, budgeting, and planning experience. Executed responsibilities using PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
