Brandwatch websites get millions of visitors every year. We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer, to take the codebase that runs them to new heights.

You’d nod your head to most of the following:

  • You have 5+ years’ experience as a full-stack developer — from LAMP through PHP up to Javascript ES2016 and Node. You’ve probably used Wordpress, Laravel, and others.
  • You’re interested in Javascript frameworks like React and modern development approaches such as JAM — and would be keen to help us roll them out.
  • You have extensive experience with SQL databases such as MySQL.
  • You think no feature is complete until it’s tested!
  • We’d love it if you know and can enthusiastically discuss topics such as SOLID, DRY, OOP, and functional programming.
  • You care about design.
  • You’re a people person, and enjoy working in a small team.

The role:

You’ll work in tandem with two front-end developers and a backend developer to create and maintain solid, semantic, consistent, performant, user friendly, well-designed Saas websites — both in terms of code and design.

Currently the codebase is PHP-driven, reasonably modular, well-structured, and drives multiple sites. We need to maintain, improve and iterate upon it, as well as implementing new features as required.

Over the next few months we’re excited to begin migrating our existing code and functionality over to a Javascript based, headless CMS architecture. This could suit someone both looking to benefit from their PHP experience, and to transition to using modern web frameworks like React in a professional environment.

Practically speaking you’ll report to and work with the web team lead, also working closely with our design team, and marketing team. We try to have a laid back attitude, but are ambitious about doing the best possible work.

As a team and an individual you’ll find rare autonomy here, so this role would suit someone who prefers decision-making within a small team to being a smaller cog in a large engineering machine.

The web assets we build are used by millions of people each year, and we work with stakeholders across the company, from marketing to the product team to the CEO. So some great people skills won’t go amiss!
